E-commerce Kashmir

Continuing with its series of programs, the Silk Route Group (SRCG) held industry specific workshop on start-ups on Saturday at 7 c’s café and fine dine, here.

This week the workshop focused on the opportunities and potential of e-commerce – based start-ups.

Newly established e-commerce start-up CEO’s thronged to the venue and shared their experience and challenges with potential entrepreneurs who were keen to know about the nitty-gritty of e-commerce.

Ejaz AYoub, Co-founder of “The Silk Route Group” said “Kashmir is under-utilising its potential of generating export business. E-commerce paves an amazing opportunity for generating foreign exchange income for the state”.

He said, “The very nature of our local produce is such that it attracts global markets and e-commerce offers an excellent vehicle of reaching the globe. The government too needs to reduce connectivity bottlenecks and logistic framework to support the growth of this industry.”

Asma Yasrib, a web designer, female entrepreneur shared her experience from Malaysia to Kashmir and how she started her venture, known as Graphic Weave.

Muheet, founder of Kashmirbox.com talked about two -sided market strategy where its core value offering to its customers is satisfactory services and customer retention.

Mufakir Ansari, CEO of Panunkart.com, NIT engineer turned entrepreneur, shared his experience and journey from Mumbai to Panunkart.com in Kashmir.

Altaf Bashir, facilitator from SRCG briefed the participants about the aim of this platform that according to him helps young entrepreneurs to assemble and share their ideas and challenges in their journey of entrepreneurship.
